Alexandra and Andrew, Los Cabos, Mexico
Andrew and I held our destination wedding at Sunset Da Mona Lisa, a gorgeous restaurant on top of a cliff over looking gorgeous Los Cabos, Mexico. The view and back drop was like something straight out of the Bachelor/Bachelorette (so our guests kept saying anyway). The sunset was incredible and also made for some breath taking pictures! The outside Palapa (covered dining area) was hot at first but it was a very beautiful setting. The service was great and we got the privacy we were looking for by doing it off the resort.
All of our 41 guests stayed at the Riu Sante Fe, it is a big resort with lots of pools, restaurants and stunning views. Apart from having some of our guests moved to the ocean view rooms they paid for everything went smoothly. Town is very close and easy to get to with great night life and good shopping. The only downfall to this place is you cannot swim in the ocean because the undertow is very dangerous. My husband and I are not big ocean people so it didn’t bother us much and there is a swimmable beach you can get to by water taxi. Overall it was a great time and your family and friends are what really makes the experience an incredible one!
Karen from myweddingaway.com was AMAZING!! She is a travel agent and wedding planner all in one. You get far more than what you pay for. She is so thorough and detailed and she makes sure that you don’t forget anything. She is also VERY patient, I was very picky when it came to choosing a resort. She must have sent me over 30 options, she later advised me ever so politely that she usually only presents 5 options to most brides! She didn’t stop though until I was sure I had chosen the right place. Any questions I had (and there were a lot) were answered so quickly and efficiently. Even when I chose to have the wedding off the resort she worked with me and the employees from the venue to ensure everything was perfect. None of my guests had anything bad to say about her and the process of receiving our tickets and other information was painless and easy. She even sent us a beautiful card and was the first to email me to see how everything went before I was off the plane. She also speaks Spanish which is a major plus when dealing with the resorts since it can sometimes be a big communication barrier. I can’t say enough about Karen and her company. If you want a stress free destination wedding experience then you have to use myweddingaway.com!
